Police Sergeant, one other caught in Port Harcourt robbery  On By Egufe Yafugborhi, PORT HARCOURT RIVERS State Police Command on Sunday confirmed the arrest of one of its officer, Sergeant Ibrahim Odege, for alleged involvement in an armed robbery in Port Harcourt. Sergeant Odege, attached to the Operations Department of the Rivers Police Command was caught Saturday night along with one  Sampson Inomoghe ‘m’ 32 years by security guards and residents at Elekahia Estate, where they were robbing victims at gunpoint. Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers Command, SP Nnamdi, in a statement following the handover of both suspects to the police, said the police officer and his civilian partner in crime were caught at about 2200hrs.

Welcome To Ladun Liadi s Blog Tuesday, December 15, 2020 4 feared dead in scramble for Christmas palliatives in PH Four persons were feared dead, while many others were injured during scramble for Christmas palliatives on Tuesday morning at the Rumuodara community, a suburb of Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State. It was learnt that people in and around the community had in their thousands stormed an event centre in the area where a non-governmental organization, was distributing items to its members from Ikwerre, Emohua and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas of the state as early as 8 am. Due to poor crowd management and the surge of persons who were not invited, the situation got out of control, leading to a stampede during which some persons fell and were trampled upon while others sustained injuries.
