Council hears water, sewer rate hike measure

Greenville City Council heard a first reading of legislation authorizing rate increases on water and sewer services for city residents. A second reading will take place at council’s Feb. 16 meeting.

GREENVILLE Greenville City Council heard legislation Tuesday regarding a rate increase in water and sewer rates for city residents.
The measure, which received a first reading, calls for water rates to increase 50 percent effective May 1, 2021, and an additional 18 percent Nov. 1, 2021. Sewer rates will increase 25 percent May 1, and 10 percent more on Nov. 1.
If approved, the legislation will also have the city switch to monthly utilities billing, effective May 1. The measure will receive a second reading during council’s Feb. 16 meeting.

CENTERVILLE Nine bids for the second phase of a $1.8 million renovation of The Golf Club at Yankee Trace are being evaluated by Centerville officials with the work expected to start next month.
Several Dayton-area businesses are vying for the project that will include revamping the 32,000 square foot clubhouse to the 150-acre site city-owned site at 10000 Yankee St.
