Call for Applications - South Africa Media Innovation Program Expands to Five Southern African Countries

The South Africa Media Innovation Program (SAMIP) is pleased to announce a call for media innovators from five Southern African countries to apply to join its cohort of independent media initiatives.
SAMIP will admit up to five new projects, providing grants of USD5,000 to 15,000 per organisation, as well as capacity building and technical assistance. Follow this link for full eligibility criteria and to apply.
SAMIP was launched by Media Development Investment Fund in 2017 to diversify, strengthen and support innovation among independent media initiatives through a mix of project funding, technical support and capacity building, and investment. Its initial focus was the South African media sector.

The aim of UIFF is to curate the best cinema art narratives of childhood to take stock of the dynamic forces shaping childhood and promote reflection on children’s experiences in different contexts. Millions of lives have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic (World Health Organization [WHO], 2021). However, scientific knowledge on how to effectively respond to COVID-19 outbreaks has also increased considerably in a very short time (Weiner at al., 2020). For example, several research teams have developed promising COVID-19 vaccines, and, as of April 2021, about 732 million vaccination doses have been administered worldwide (WHO, 2021). Further success in reducing the COVID-19 burden relies on the public’s awareness and acceptance of scientific knowledge.
