(EAST ORANGE/ORANGE, NJ) - On this last day of Women’s History Month, before the clock strikes 12 midnight, TAPinto wanted to pause from all the Coronavirus news and take the time to highlight women in our communities making a difference.
In honor of the many s-heroes, we have created our second annual “East Orange and Orange 100 Women of Power and Progress” list.
The criteria used to select each woman was as follows: 1. The woman must be a resident of or work in East Orange or Orange. 2. She must use her life and platforms by way of career, volunteerism, social media, etc. to promote positivity, unity, and the uplifting of other women within one of the two municipalities and beyond.
Restaurants and other businesses in New Jersey will increase to 50% indoor capacity on March 19, while East Orange became one of the first municipalities in New Jersey to launch a mobile health clinic to administer COVID-19 vaccines.

Seventeen-year-old Kimberly Cross, a Jamaican now attending East Orange Campus High School in New Jersey, United States, has made history by being the first student from the institution to be accepted to an Ivy League university.
Cross received a full scholarship to attend the prestigious Princeton University, starting September 2021.
Having attended the Immaculate Conception High School in Jamaica up to grade 10, she migrated to New Jersey, where she now stands out as a model student with a perfect GPA of 4.0.
Her mother, Kay Clarke, told
The Gleaner that she faced economic and other challenges as she raised her only child, but despite the hardships, Kimberly kept her eyes fixed on her educational goals.
