County of Orange opens COVID-19 Mobile Clinic Site at Christ Cathedral

Today, the County of Orange is opening a COVID-19 Mobile Clinic vaccination site at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove. Beginning today, the Christ Cathedral Mobile Clinic will operate on three successive Wednesdays for first-dose Pfizer vaccinations and three consecutive Wednesdays for second-dose vaccinations. Vaccinations are by appointment only and are scheduled from 9 am – 2:30 pm. “This pandemic has shined a spotlight on the importance of strong community partnerships and working together in service to our community,” said Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors Andrew Do, who represents the First District. “We appreciate the Diocese of Orange for their ongoing participation on our OC COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, statement of support of vaccination for parishioners, and offer of this physical space to promote equitable vaccine distribution.”

County of Orange adds second regional COVID-19 Vaccine Super POD site

The County of Orange is opening its second regional COVID-19 Vaccine Super Point of Dispensing (POD) site at Soka University in Aliso Viejo on Saturday, January 23, 2021, starting at 8:00 am. “Orange County is working around the clock to make the COVID-19 vaccine available to everyone who wants it,” said Andrew Do, Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “This second vaccination site at Soka University will allow us to vaccinate thousands more residents every day.” Orange County is moving quickly to make the COVID-19 vaccination available; however, the County faces ongoing supply limitations. The Orange County Health Care Agency is continuously requesting more doses from the State every day.

County of Orange activates Incident Management Team, plans for regional COVID-19 vaccine supersites

The County of Orange is proactively leading Orange County’s response to COVID-19. The next critical phase is providing the vaccine to residents in a phased, tiered approach. “The County of Orange, together with our partners at the Orange County Fire Authority, launched ‘Operation Independence’ to help administer COVID-19 vaccinations in the county. In order to coordinate the planning for this massive undertaking, the County has created an Incident Management Team (IMT). The Operation Independence IMT will be working 7 days a week to secure locations and stand up large, regional Super Point-of-Dispensing (POD) sites that can vaccinate thousands of residents each day,” said Acting Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors Andrew Do, First District.
