The Gator Party won its second executive ticket and maintained a majority in Senate on Wednesday. There were 6,650 total ballots cast, Supervisor of Elections Haley Price announced on a live stream Wednesday evening.

Change, Keg and Gator debate diversity and funds in Spring Executive Debate

Before concluding the hour-long debate, the three parties had called each other names, questioned the others’ motives and addressed hot topic issues like traffic safety, budget management and diversity on campus.
The UF Student Government Spring Executive Debate took place Tuesday night. Three parties’ executive ticket candidates discussed topics such as UF COVID-19 guidelines, UF’s contract with food service provider Aramark and challenges in cabinet.

The Gator Party and the Change Party released platforms highlighting stances on traffic safety, sustainability, racism and student diversity.
Students will vote for 50 UF Senate seats and the Student Body president, vice president and treasurer on Feb. 23 and 24.
Gator released a 17-point platform Monday with plans to increase traffic safety on campus, facilitate access to Student Government resources and enhance the student experience through student involvement projects. Change’s 21-point platform, released Tuesday, focused on issues of racism, traffic safety and mental health.
University of Florida students who are not living in Gainesville or don’t feel comfortable voting in person can request an absentee ballot to be sent by mail by filling out a request form through the SG website.
