First Assistant Chief Lashinda T. Stair will be retiring from the Detroit Police Department after 25 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the department and the community.

The Honolulu Police Commission has announced its choice for interim police chief upon Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard s last day on June 1.
Current assistant chief and 21-year veteran Rade Vanic will be interim police chief, the commission announced after a unanimous vote Wednesday.
“We are fortunate to have an experienced team of leaders in the Department. I look forward to working with the Police Commission and our officers to serve the public in the best way possible,” said Vanic, in a statement to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Vanic has been a public face for the department at Police Commission and City Council meetings, the Honolulu Civil Beat reported.
The Sheridan Police Department announced Monday that four members of the department have earned promotion to the next rank. According to a media release from the PD, Sergeants James Hill and Danny Keller will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Upon promotion, Sergeant Hill will assume the command of the Support Services Bureau and Sergeant Keller will assume command of the Patrol Bureau.
Corporal Jacob Board will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and will assume command of a patrol team. Officer Chase Phillip will be promoted to corporal and will assume first line leadership responsibilities on one of four patrol teams. A promotion ceremony will take place Friday at 3 pm in Council Chambers at Sheridan City Hall.

The Fort Pierce Police Department is mourning one of its own.
Maj. Michael Flynn, 58, passed away Friday night.
Flynn joined the department in June 2020.
He was in charge of the department s Support Services Bureau, where he implemented departmental changes that helped day-to-day operations run smoother and more efficiently, the department said.
Flynn served as a U.S. Marine and gave 30 years of service as a law enforcement officer in Fort Pierce and Tampa.
