COOLIDGE – Led by half-centuries from Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran, Trinidad & Tobago Red Force reached the final of the West Indies Super50 Cup with a convincing six-wicket win over Jamaica Scorpions.
Simmons cracked the top score of 68 and Pooran hit top form with an unbeaten 54, and Red Force successfully chased 256 for victory in the day-night, first semi-final at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.
Simmons, whose innings included seven fours and three sixes from 70 balls, anchored an opening stand of 63 with fellow international Evin Lewis to give the run chase a solid foundation.
Pooran, batting at five, collected four fours and two sixes in his 40-ball knock. He shared 59 for the fourth wicket with Jason Mohammed and added 58 – unbroken – with his captain Kieron Pollard for the fifth wicket to hasten Red Force over the finish line.
Trinidad and Tobago Red Force have progressed to the final of the Regional Super50 Cup.
Jamaica Scorpions suffered a six-wicket defeat against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in the first semi-final of the 2021 Regional Super50 Cup at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua on Wednesday.
The victory represents the sixth straight for the Red Force, who will face either Guyana Jaguars or Windward Islands Volcanoes in Saturday’s final. The second semi-final takes place on Thursday at the same venues.
This victory was first set up by three key efforts by Ravi Rampaul with the ball then complemented by Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran with the bat.

St John s : , Feb 25 (IANS) Fast bowler Ravi Rampaul took for our 29 from his 10 overs as Trinidad and Tobago Red Force easily defeated Jamaica Scorpions by six wickets to advance to the final of the CG Insurance Super50 Cup.
The experienced Rampaul demonstrated great control in the first 10 overs of the innings and returned for an even more impressive second spell as Red Force limited Scorpions to 255-7 off their 50 overs only 58 runs came from the last 10 overs as four wickets fell on Wednesday night.
