The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said two men were involved in an altercation outside Tim Hortons in the rotunda of Surrey Central City mall around 8:30 a.m. on June 7.

One of the men, Andrew Doucette, was taken to hospital, where his condition deteriorated. He later died from injuries sustained in the fight, said police.
According to his obituary, Doucette, 61, died on June 15 at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took over the investigation on June 21.
“One of the males, identified as Andrew Doucette, was injured and taken to the hospital,” IHIT says in a statement. “After a few days, Doucette’s condition worsened and he succumbed to injuries sustained in the physical altercation.”
Investigators are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the fight. They’re asking for anyone who may have witnessed the altercation to contact the police and assist in the investigation.

“We are looking to compile a fulsome accurate account of what happened,” says IHIT Sergeant David Lee. “There were several persons that saw this incident and we ask for them to contact IHIT.”

Police said two men were involved in the fight outside the Tim Hortons. One of them, Andrew Doucette, was injured and taken to hospital. After a few days, Doucette s condition worsened and he died from his injuries, police said. Investigators did not say exactly when Doucette died, but noted that the Surrey RCMP Serious Crimes Unit was notified of his death on June 17.
