Many parts of Hawke s Bay, including Haumoana, pictured, are prone to coastal erosion
A little green bach that has withstood storms and high seas for the past 20 years will be removed next week to make way for a new seawall at Haumoana in Hawke s Bay. The small coastal community must farewell the bach at No. 3 Clifton Road as it stands in the way of the 100-metre seawall that is finally being built next month after 12 years of waiting. Pitted with holes, sprayed by graffiti and artwork, and pummelled by waves and storms, the bach on Cape View corner refused to fall and stands valiantly in its last remaining days.
