Becker County splashed cold water on the One Watershed, One Plan initiative for the Otter Tail River on Tuesday, when commissioners voted 3-2 not to participate.
It was a reversal from the Feb. 16 Becker County Board meeting, when commissioners voted 3-2 to join two separate One Watershed, One Plan initiatives one for the Buffalo-Red River and one for the Wild Rice River.
Richard Vareberg sworn in as newest Becker County commissioner
Commissioner Barry Nelson was elected chairman of the Becker County Board for 2021, and Commissioner Larry Knutson was elected vice chairman.

Commissioner Barry Nelson was elected chairman of the Becker County Board for 2021, and Commissioner Larry Knutson was elected vice chairman, at an organizational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 5, that also welcomed newly-elected Commissioner Richard Vareberg. Commissioners have traditionally rotated the chairmanship each year, giving each commissioner a turn with the gavel.
