Coronavirus cases surge in Mansehra after Eid July 27, 2021 MANSEHRA: The number of coronavirus cases have surged in the Mansehra district after the Eid ul Azha as the district administration sealed the Bandi Syedain area of Garhi Habibullah following dozens of locals who contracted the virus were shifted to the health facilities. “We have imposed a smart lockdown and started disinfecting the entire area as dozens of cases have been reported from this locality,” Assistant Commissioner Hasrat Khan, told reporters in Balakot on Monday. Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ali Khan ordered the enforcement of the smart lockdown and disinfecting of the entire area after Covid-19 cases were reported from the Bandi Syedain and its adjoining areas.

Rising corona cases: Mansehra admin notifies closure of educational institutions

National April 26, 2021 MANSEHRA: The deputy commissioner has notified the closure of all private and public schools and colleges in the district in view of the rising cases of the coronavirus. “According to the Health department, the Covid-19 positivity ratio has jumped to over a 7 percent in the district, therefore, in pursuance of the recommendations of the National Command and Operation Centre all public and private schools, colleges and universities are closed until the next order,” Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ali Khan told reporters here on Sunday. He said the third wave of Covid-19 was more dangerous than the previous ones and the situation was deteriorating because of the non-compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Anti-polio drive starts in Manshera today

MANSEHRA: A five-day anti-polio vaccination drive is being launched formally across the Mansehra district today (Saturday). “Making the country polio-free is a national cause and we should come forward wholeheartedly in this noble mission and ensure that none of the children misses polio drops,” Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ali Khan said while speaking at the polio launching ceremony at his office here on Friday. He inaugurated the drive after administering the polio drops to children brought in from various parts of the city and its suburbs. Dr Mushtaq Tanoli, district health officer, said that around 258,800 children of five and below five years of age would be administered the drops across the district during the anti-polio drive.
