History Matters awards North Central College student with Judith Barlow Prize Gelaine Vestal Updated 4/29/2021 1:55 PM History Matters: Celebrating Women s Plays of the Past, a New York City nonprofit, has announced the winner for this year s Judith Barlow Prize. The annual prize is awarded to a student playwright for an exceptional one-act play inspired by the work of an historic female playwright. The first-place winner of the prize receives a $2,500 award and a reading of their work along with a $500 award to the participating professor. North Central College s Gelaine Vestal won for the student s play, The Shop, inspired by Sophie Treadwell s Machinal and sponsored by professor Laura Lodewyck. A reading will be scheduled and announced in the coming months.

The students’ first task is to find everyone who is injured. There will be four iterations of this collapsed-ceiling disaster, and in all, 118 students will participate. Over 80s get Covid vaccine at East Bergholt GP surgery

It s been great here .  Audrey Web and her husband Howard Web in the waiting area after receiving their vaccination. - Credit: Charlotte Bond The pair will return in a few weeks to get their second dose.  The vaccine delivery at Constable Country is primarily being run by GP staff; however, a number of volunteers were on site helping with traffic, parking and directing people outside the surgery.  Pete Keeble, the practice manager, said 346 people received their first dose of the vaccine on the first day of the rollout. He said the majority of those were the over-80s cohort, but also some frontline workers.
