Weeks after the British Army renewed a contract that retained Capita at the heart of its recruitment services, the oft-criticised outsourcing biz has snaffled a £1bn deal to provide training services for the Royal Navy and Marines.
In a statement to the London Stock Exchange today, Capita said the 12-year agreement will see the company endeavour to modernise the Navy s shore-based training in 16 sites across the UK as the lead partner in a consortium, Fisher Training, which bid for the work.

Capita has scored a payday after the British Army quietly handed it a £140m extension to its shambolic DRS military recruiting contract and tacked on a project to migrate certain systems to Microsoft Azure.
The deal, confirmed by Capita to the financial markets on the afternoon of 11 December, will see the notorious Recruiting Partnership Project (RPP) deal extended until 2024. The two-year contract extension is worth £140m and will start in March 2022, when the current 10-year contract was due to end, Capita stated. Under the original contract the MoD had the option of extending Capita s contract, which the company has now successfully secured.
