MANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) has emerged the sole recipient of a full all-star rating among Malaysian universities ranked in the QS World University Rankings 2022. Rated 5 QS Stars in nine categories, MSU scores highly overall and individually in teaching, graduate employability, academic development, internationalisation, online learning, social responsibility, inclusiveness, and hospitality and leisure management. More than 1,300 universities across the globe were ranked in the QS World University Rankings 2022. In the QS WUR by Subject 2021, MSU emerged Malaysia’s #1 in the Art and Design category (World Top 151-200 list). QS WUR by Subject 2021 also placed MSU at the World Top 51-100 and Top 2 among Malaysia’s institutions of higher education offering Hospitality and Leisure Management programmes.

Dr Chamila is keen to develop teaching and learning materials in tandem with the 21st century pedagogy in Sri Lanka. “MY job is lecturing plus producing and directing educational audio and video programmes and currently I work as a senior programme producer cum project leader for producing educational TV, radio and audio programmes. I have produced numerous formal and non-formal additional supplementary learning materials in audio and video for general education in Sri Lanka,” said Dr Chamila Nishanthi Edward, alumna of Management and Science University (MSU) PhD in Management/Business under the Graduate School of Management (GSM).

Taking on the PhD in Business Management with a research narrowed specifically on tourism management, Sharmini took home not just her qualifications, but a life-changing pedagogy on tourism management, which she applied in her business, Medical Tourism Lanka Pvt Ltd.

For Jakarta Global University (JGU) lecturer Onki Alexander, the challenges he faced were manifold. “Since Covid-19 started spreading, the education system was affected,” he said. “There were a lot of activities that were forced to go online during the pandemic. Due to this, the process of teaching and learning became limited. “It was also hard because a lot of students were not comfortable learning online. The greatest challenge in my career as a lecturer was learning how to utilise technology in creative ways during hard times.”
