West Dallas parking lot becomes art park with bar food & frozen drinks Former parking lot becomes outdoor park.
Courtesy photo Trinity Groves, the one-time restaurant incubator in West Dallas, has added Art Park, a dedicated spot for outdoor drinking with family and pets that will take over the old parking lot running along Singleton Boulevard. It ll come with a menu of bar food from Trinity Groves corporate chef Jay Valley, including Hoffman Hots hot dogs, burgers, chicken wings, fries, onion rings, and Spaghetti O fritters served with spicy Italian red sauce. A frozen drink bar made from shipping containers will sell icy cocktails.

The beer garden and Art Park are expected to open in June 2021.

Dakota’s Steakhouse, which closed in 2020 after 36 years in business, is reopening.
Dakota’s will remain at its original location, in the basement at 600 N. Akard St. in downtown Dallas, with its New Orleans inflected decor. “Dakota’s may be the prettiest, most inviting steakhouse around,” a
Dallas Morning News critic said in 2011.

‘Country club for gearheads’ in Dallas gets green light from restaurateur Nick Badovinus

When Seattle native Matt Bell made plans to expand his car-focused restaurant Derby to Dallas, he turned to his high school buddy Nick Badovinus for advice.
It was a good move: Badovinus operates six popular restaurants in town, including New American restaurant Neighborhood Services, Design District steakhouse Town Hearth and Lowest Greenville hangout Desert Racer. Plus, Badovinus loves car culture. Badovinus famously parked several motorcycles and even a full-size Volkswagen Beetle at Desert Racer a fun part of the restaurant’s funky decor.
