City Chic enters Europe with purchase of Germany s Navabi

Save Share Acquisitive womenswear retailer City Chic has entered the €40 billion ($64 billion) plus-sized market in Europe by snapping up Germany-based online marketplace Navabi for $9.6 million. The acquisition was announced on Monday as City Chic pre-released its full-year results. It expected underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation to rise as much as 60 per cent to $42.5 million. The guidance was higher than consensus forecasts of about $38.9 million. City Chic CEO Phil Ryan.  Janie Barrett Sales were expected to rise 33 per cent to $258 million, underpinned by like-for-like sales growth of 31.6 per cent. The US and the UK now account for more than half City Chic’s annual revenue and the retailer has widened its online range, adding lingerie, jeans and leisurewear.

Woman claims store failed to warn of wet paint that caused fall, sues for $1M

HOUSTON A woman claims a Houston store failed to warn of wet paint on the sidewalk entrance which caused her to fall and suffer serious injuries.  Delores Delaguila filed a complaint July 12 in Harris County District Court against Avenue Stores LLC, Stream Realty Partners LP and Stream Realty Partners Houston LP alleging negligence. Delaguila was a customer at the Avenues Store managed by the defendants on FM 1960 Road in Houston on Aug. 6, 2019, according to her complaint. She claims that as she walked toward the entrance of the store, she stepped on wet paint on the sidewalk. Delaguila alleges her shoes became stuck which caused her to fall forward and hit her face and body on the asphalt and suffer serious injuries. She claims the defendants negligence for not having any warning signs posted in the area and for creating the dangerous condition which posed an unreasonable risk of harm.
