Reserve your spot at the North Ridgeville Community Garden: Short Takes on Avon, Avon Lake and North Ridgeville

It’s that time of year! The North Ridgeville Community Garden is currently accepting registrations for the upcoming season. The garden is located along Chestnut Ridge Road across from Alternate State Route 83 (near the exit at Ohio 10).
Deadline to register for a plot at the North Ridgeville Community Garden is May 15.
Applications for North Ridgeville residents are currently being accepted through May 15 for the Community Garden.
Things may be a bit tricky this year as construction will soon begin on the new roundabout in that area. A temporary drive and parking will be provided on the west side of the project along Chestnut Ridge Road for access to the Community Garden. When the project is completed, a drive and parking area on the north side of the roundabout will provide access to the Community Garden.
Lake Ridge Academy collecting cereal boxes, attempting to break record for domino cereal box drop: Short Takes on Avon, Avon Lake and North Ridgeville

North Ridgeville, Ohio - Students at Lake Ridge Academy are attempting to collect 5,000 unopened full sized boxes of cereal to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and North Ridgeville Community Care. As if collecting 5,000 boxes was not enough, to create community interest, the students will be attempting to set the world record for the most cereal boxes dropped in a domino fashion in a ‘chain reaction for change.’

AVON LAKE, Ohio The Avon Lake Public Library (ALPL) is a gem in the city and worthy of a long celebration to commemorate its 90th anniversary.
What started from humble beginnings in February 1931 in a small house near the current high school building has evolved over the years and continues to serve the community even during a pandemic.

AVON LAKE, Ohio The Avon Lake Historical Society is a true asset to the city, and its members do some amazing work. If you have attended events in the city such as the North Coast Christmas with Santa visit, cemetery tours, Rockin the Rails and other library events, the Avon Lake Historical Society was part of the planning or was the host.
Preserving the history of Avon Lake is vital, and all members of the society should be commended for their efforts.
