Govt to procure 33.60 lakh MMBtu LNG 366 DHAKA, April 21, 2021 (BSS) – The government will procure some 33.60 lakh MMBtu of LNG from Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore at a cost of around Taka 267.58 crore in a bid to meet the growing demand of LNG in the country. The purchase proposal was approved at the 15th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) of this year held today virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair. Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, Cabinet Division additional secretary Dr Sahida Akhter said the meeting approved a total of eight proposals. She informed that the import of per unit MMBtu LNG would cost the government $8.012.

Irregularities galore in 9 public hospitals Govt loses Tk 360.83cr revenue last fiscal Anaet Shawon 9th January, 2021 10:00:55 The government has suffered a huge loss of Tk 360.83 crore as massive corruption and other irregularities were reported at nine public hospitals in the capital in the 2019-2020 fiscal year. During a recent audit, the health audit department has found 84 serious objections, out of 95 financial irregularities, in those hospitals. The audit has been conducted in Mugda General Hospital (MGH), Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (SSMCH), Dhaka Dental College Hospital (DDCH), Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (SSMCH), National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital (NICDH), Kuwait Bangladesh Maitree Government Hospital (KBMGH), Kurmitola General Hospital (KGH), National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Hospital (NITORH).
