Grand Prairie’s fire trucks are upgrading with a new safety measure this week.
Two of the department’s trucks will now be outfitted with truck-mounted attenuators (TMAs) that will serve as “temporary traffic control and advance warning signals for motorists during the early stages of highway traffic incidents,” the department said in a statement.
The move is in response to the growing number of highway incidents involving first responders, the department said.
