Now that Spectrum dropped Nomorobo.and switched to their Call blocking system.my spam\Junk calls have increased SUBSTANTIALLY.
Calls come thru where the Caller IS displays SPAM RISKS..how is that helpful? I must answer those calls because when I didn t, I discovered the calls were Not Spam..they were caller properly calling me Back.
I as GUESSING Spectrum s system is monitoring calls and when it feels the Caller may be Spam/Junk.it changes the Caller ID to SPAM RISK for customers to decide whether they should answer the call or Not..and if you don t, the Call rings until that caller hangs up.so you must hear sometimes 5 to 8 rings.
The Erie woman answered the call, not once but several times. I pressed one to talk with a representative, Trombetta said. I ended up yelling at them three different times. It didn t do a bit of good.
Trombetta said she received the calls on Saturday and Sunday, all recordings claiming that she had a suspicious $729 charge on her Amazon account. The calls came every 5 minutes to 10 minutes.
She wasn t alone. Dozens, perhaps hundreds, of Verizon and Spectrum phone customers in Erie, Crawford and Mercer counties received the repeated calls over the weekend, according to social media posts.
Many of the customers, like Trombetta, do not even have Amazon accounts. The scammers are hoping you press 1 to talk with a representative and provide personal information, such as a credit card number.

I ve been receiving a huge influx of telemarketing and scam calls since February 1st. It peaked today at
30 calls. Some call multiple times. Some leave messages on my answering machine. It s all sales calls like Refinance your mortgage! or scams like This is Amazon Prime. Someone was trying to use your VISA card (I don t have a Visa).
It s never been this bad before. I had a lot of success with manually adding numbers to the blocked list on my Manage Voice page in my Spectrum account services. But something must have changed February 1st.
I ve got the new Call Guard enabled. Is there some trick to get this damn thing to actually do its job? It claims to have blocked only 1 number from the sea of telemarketers today. I also find it very odd that each of the entries I click on for that number of February 1st are all calls at 9:34 PM (see attached image).
