CHANDLER, AZ â A two-year-old girl has died after being pulled from a community lake in Chandler Tuesday evening.
Chandler police say they were called to the area of Alma School Road and Chandler Heights for reports of a lost child.
Family told police they were unable to locate the girl so officers began searching the neighborhood.
Officers reportedly found the girl in a community lake in the area. She was unresponsive at the time.
Police say the child was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Officials say it appears the child walked out of her apartment unnoticed when being watched by a family member.

CHANDLER, Ariz. A deadly three-car crash on Loop 202 in Chandler closed the westbound lanes for several hours Monday afternoon.
The crash happened on the Santan freeway near Alma School Road just before 6 p.m.
DPS said two people had to be rescued from the cars and were rushed to a hospital.
At least two people have died.
The highway was reopened around 10 p.m. UPDATE L-202 WB (Santan) remains closed at Alma School Road in Chandler; there is no estimated time to reopen the freeway.
