It has been a while since we heard anything new from
U Mobile regarding its wireless broadband plan but that has changed today with the introduction of the new
Ultra Unlimited Wireless Broadband plans. Given the on-going implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO), the timing of the launch seems rather apt.

Despite its name though, the Ultra Unlimited Wireless Broadband plans are not exactly “unlimited” as per what you may have expected. The unlimited portion of these plans only applies to selected apps depending on the specific plan that you choose.
However, all of them do come with unlimited data quota for Zoom and Google Meet which are being used extensively for online learning by teachers and schools throughout the country. For starters, there is the WB48 Study Plan that provides a general data pool of 20GB for RM 48 per month.
WB128 Max Plan, going as low as RM48 per month.
As you can tell from the plan names, each plan was designed specifically for different needs. Although it s labelled with unlimited internet data, it s only for selected apps. For example, users can access unlimited internet data on Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Office 365 apps for free on the WB68 Work Plan, then the rest of the 30GB data is for the rest. For the Play part, it seems to include Shopee, Lazada, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Garena Call of Duty: Mobile and Garena Free Fire.
In conjunction with launching the new unlimited plans, the WB68 Work Plan, WB88 Work & Play Plan and WB128 Max Plan will have a promotional 50% discount starting from RM34 per month for all new and current U Mobile (only for Giler Unlimited GX68, Unlimited HERO P79, P99 or P139) customers. The discount will last for 24 months and the promotion will run for a limited time only.
