Voices of many, including local and state officials, rose in opposition to Mass General Brigham s plans for an ambulatory care center
in Westborough as the Department of Public Health hosted a hearing on the application for the project Tuesday.
The four-hour call-in hearing brought dozens of participants, many affiliated with UMass Memorial Medical Center, Shields Imaging and UMass Memorial Marlborough Hospital, who expressed concerns that Mass General Brigham will cater to patients who have private health insurance while making it difficult for marginalized populations to utilize the new facilities.
