American flag etiquette, guidelines to be taught at upcoming Listen and Learn

Two members of the American Legion Post 87 will teach virtual attendees. 10:00 am, Jun. 1, 2021 × Owen Miller Commander Allan Gerlach and adjunct commander Owen Miller, both from American Legion Post 87, will teach community members the basics of proper flag etiquette to ensure that all flags fly respectfully throughout the area at the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce’s virtual “Listen and Learn” event Tuesday, June 8. The American flag has flown as the nation’s emblem since 1777. This can be a source of pride and unity for all Americans, embodying the country’s core qualities of liberty, justice, freedom and love of country and national purpose.
