Bridgerton, Cobra Kai Top First Nielsen Streaming List of 2021

Bridgerton and
Cobra Kai finished nearly neck and neck in the latest edition of Nielsen s streaming rankings, each recording more than 2.6 billion minutes of viewing time.
The two Netflix series stand well above the rest of the pack for the week of Dec. 28-Jan. 3.
Bridgerton, which premiered Dec. 25, more than doubled its viewing time from the previous week (1.2 billion to 2.65 billion). Netflix has said by its internal metrics, the period drama drew the most views ever for a series on the platform over its first 28 days.
Cobra Kai, whose third season debuted on New Year s Day, had 2.61 billion minutes of viewing in the United States its highest total to date in the five months Nielsen has been releasing weekly rankings.

“For the week of Dec. 21-27, HBO Max users spent 2.25 billion minutes watching
Wonder Woman 1984 (it was released Christmas Day). That’s equivalent to about 14.9 million complete plays of the 151-minute movie. It’s also 580 million minutes more than Nielsen’s previously reported No. 1 for the week, Pixar’s
Soul on Disney+ (1.67 billion minutes), and the third highest weekly total for any title since Nielsen began releasing weekly streaming numbers in August 2020,” the outlet reported.

Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max, albeit without any hard viewing numbers.
Now Nielsen has put some data behind the claims: The ratings service says the movie racked up huge audiences on its opening weekend, becoming the biggest feature film in Nielsen s rankings and one of the biggest streaming titles of any kind since Nielsen launched its streaming measurement.

The Midnight Sky, both on Netflix.
Wonder Woman 1984 also premiered on Christmas on HBO Max, but Nielsen s streaming measurement doesn t currently include that platform, and WarnerMedia doesn t release viewership data for HBO Max.
Soul captured about 1.67 billion minutes of viewing time the equivalent of almost 16.7 million full runs of the 100-minute film.
Bridgerton (1.2 billion minutes) and
The Midnight Sky (1.11 billion) claimed the third and fourth spots on the chart behind
The Office, whose last full week on Netflix before moving to Peacock delivered 1.44 billion minutes of viewing time.
