BUCKHANNON – The President of West Virginia Wesleyan College announced that two senior leaders at the College are taking on new roles to further expand WVWC’s student engagement services.
Alison Whitehair is now the Chief Student Development Officer and Title IX Coordinator and Alisa Lively will now serve as the Dean of Students at West Virginia Wesleyan.
“Both of these outstanding individuals will elevate Wesleyan’s ability to serve our students,” said WVWC President Joel Thierstein, J.D., Ph.D.
“Alison brings a high level of organization and a deep understanding of student development that will serve our students well as they pursue their education here at Wesleyan,” Thierstein said.

BUCKHANNON – City officials started marching through 2021 on the ‘right foot’ as they learned Buckhannon was selected to host an incredibly unique event – one that promises to put Buckhannon, Upshur County and West Virginia on the map.
During a virtual announcement on Friday, Robert Eklund, International President and CEO of the World Association of Marching Show Bands, announced that Buckhannon will be the site of the WAMSB Championship Event in 2023. This is only the second time in the competition’s history that the host site has been in the United States.
