Monthly jazz concert series finds home at Six Car Pub & Brewery
Starting Thursday, the Amarillo Symphony and Chamber Music Amarillo will be bringing jazz downtown every month through September at Six Car Pub & Brewery.
The Yellow Rose Jazz concert series will kick off at 6 p.m. Thursday with Polk Street Jazz on the patio at Six Car Pub & Brewery off of Polk Street. The concert series will continue through the summer with various jazz ensembles.
The schedule for the Yellow Rose Jazz concert series is as follows:
• June 24: The James Barger Quartet
• July 15: The Bevan Manson Trio
• August 19: The Jim Laughlin Quartet

Amarillo Symphony to present Beethoven Society Award to Buckner
The Amarillo Symphony recently announced Adair Buckner as the 2020 Beethoven Society Award winner. This annual award will be presented at the Beethoven Society Award Dinner scheduled for April 12 at the Amarillo Club, according to a news release from the organization.
The Beethoven Society Award honors a symphony donor from the Beethoven Society who gives with extraordinary generosity of his or her time, talents, and treasure to support great music throughout the Texas Panhandle.
Buckner has been involved with the Amarillo Symphony for decades; in fact, she played violin in the symphony from 1976-81. She has served on the symphony board for many years and has enthusiastically participated in countless symphony projects and endeavors, the release states.
