JAMMU, May 18: Veteran BJP leader and former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta died after a prolonged illness at his Gandhi Nagar residence here today, days after undergoing successful treatment for COVID-19 at Narayana Hospital Katra, his family said.
Gupta (87) is survived by his two sons and a daughter.
“He had tested positive for COVID-19 on May 5 and returned from Narayana Hospital on Sunday after successful treatment. His condition suddenly deteriorated in the wee hours and he breathed his last around 5.10 am,” his elder son, Anil Gupta said.
Govt fails to stop black marketing of oximeters: Youth leader

JAMMU, May 1: Youth leader Partap Singh Jamwal today accused the J&K Administration of turning blind eye towards black marketing of oximeters, which are in demand due to surge in Corona cases.
He said that due to shortage of oximeters in the J&K, the hoarders have started selling it on exorbitant rates, causing extra burden on the pocket of poor public.
Taking dig at the BJP Government in Centre as well as Lieutenant Governor’s administration of J&K UT, Jamwal said that due to their wrong policies the black marketers were encouraged to do it unabated.
