Searches in joint investigation
Few details were available Wednesday after a joint investigation by several police forces led to searches in Belleville and Durham Region earlier in the day.

“We can confirm that we have executed several search warrants in the Durham Region and surrounding jurisdictions in partnership with the RCMP and with the assistance of our policing partners as part of an ongoing investigation,” Durham Regional Police announced in a statement.
“There are no threats to public safety,” the statement added.
