Alzheimer s Association raises funds, awareness of disease

MONTCALM COUNTY An organization dedicated to helping those affected by Alzheimer’s disease is calling on the community to raise funds and awareness.
The Alzheimer’s Association announced the date and location for this year’s Montcalm and Ionia Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year’s event takes place later this year, Sept. 18, at Frugthaven Farm, 11466 W. Carson City Road, in Greenville.
Teams and individuals can register for the event and start raising funds at: act.alz.org/mci.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support and research, according to a press release.
Action by the County Line and Gang Team sees 24 people across Kent arrested in February

A crackdown on county lines drug dealing saw 24 people arrested, 15 weapons taken off the street and more than £20,000 in cash seized in February alone.
It came as a result of action by Kent Policeâs County Line and Gang Team.

Among those arrested was a 30-year-old man in Maidstone after he reportedly ordered his dog to attack another man on February 9.
Omar Minsende and Daphne Yeo, 27, both of Queen Anne Road, were arrested after police were called to the property following reports a man had been seriously injured by a dog.
