Des Moines police investigating fatal shooting on the city s east side The Des Moines Police Department is investigating what they believe to be the third homicide of the year. Sgt. Paul Parizek, a spokesperson for the police department, said in a news release, that officers and fire department rescue personnel responded to reports of a shooting at 9:21 p.m. Friday at an apartment building on the 4000 block of Hubbell Avenue. Police say that multiple calls reported a woman having been shot and lying on the ground outside the apartment building, according to the release, and witnesses identified the suspect as a male and that he had entered the apartment building.
