Beijing [China], June 1 (ANI): China is bracing for a flooding season as water levels in many rivers have exceeded warning levels following a series of heavy rainfall.
Rain in some parts of central and southern China has hit record highs in recent weeks.
A new round of heavy rainfall will be seen in the southern parts of the country from Tuesday to Friday.
This will result in floods exceeding warning levels in the Xiangjiang River in Central China s Hunan Province, and four rivers in East China s Jiangxi and Fujian Provinces and South China s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Chinese state media reported citing the Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR).

A month-long unique challenge competition for the youth titled ‘Water Innovation Challenge Competition-2021 (WICC 2021)’ was launched on Tuesday.
The WICC-2021 challenge competition is jointly organised by Unilever’s Pureit, A2i (Aspire to Innovate), Dhaka WASA, Department of Environment (DoE), 2030 Water Resources Group (2030 WRG), Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), said a press release.
The competition has been commenced on virtual platform where Kabir Bin Anwar, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) attended as the chief guest.
