Jim Alexander: The women of Angel City FC have a plan, and they have time [Daily News, Los Angeles]
Dec. 24 It has now been more than half a year since Los Angeles was awarded a franchise in the National Women’s Soccer League. Or, in another way of looking at it, seven or eight months since a predominantly female ownership group was invited to jump into an already crowded pool of Southern California sports franchises.
They’ve been quite busy, akin to the old story of the duck that seems calm above water but is furiously paddling underneath. But the people who are launching the team now known as Angel City FC have plenty of time since their first match won’t be until the spring of 2022.
