On Thursday, Naflan Doole, 25, lost his freedom.
Doole, lowered his head onto the defense table and wept as a jury convicted him of one felony count and three misdemeanor charges stemming from the attack on the 19-year-old victim on July 25, 2018, in his car in a parking lot at the College of Staten Island.
The Graniteville resident, however, was acquitted of the most serious charges against him first-degree criminal sexual act (formerly classified as sodomy) and attempted first-degree rape.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Closing arguments are scheduled for Thursday morning in the trial of a political operative accused of sexually assaulting a woman three years ago in a Willowbrook parking lot.
Jury deliberations are expected to start in the afternoon after state Supreme Court Justice Alexander Jeong charges the panel.
Defense lawyer Mario Romano rested Naflan Doole’s case on Wednesday following prosecutors’ lengthy cross-examination of the defendant.
