Accused gunman enters plea in assault case The Daily Telegram ADRIAN A suspected gunman accused of shooting three people at a house party last summer entered a plea Wednesday in an unrelated criminal assault case. Tyriq Amir Damon, 21, of Adrian pleaded no contest to a charge of assault with intent to commit bodily harm less than murder. During a hearing by video conference, Lenawee County Circuit Judge Michael R. Olsaver accepted the plea but denied the defendant’s request to lower his $1 million bond. Lenawee County Assistant Prosecutor Jackie Wyse said during the hearing that the assault charge was in connection with a June 12 incident where Damon and a woman got into a heated argument around 3:30 a.m. inside a house on Stratford Drive in Adrian. ....
The Daily Telegram ADRIAN An Adrian man accused of shooting at a house full of people in August is seeking to have his case returned to district court. Tyriq Amir Damon s attorney on Wednesday argued in Lenawee County Circuit Court that a district judge abused her discretion in binding over the case to circuit court after a preliminary examination in November. He also argued for Damon s bond to be reduced. Circuit Judge Michael R. Olsaver said he would issue his ruling by the end of this week. Damon, 21, is being held on a $1 million bond in the shooting case. He is charged with three counts of assault with intent to murder, three counts of discharging a firearm at a building causing injury and one count of felony firearms. Lenawee County District Judge Laura J. Schaedler in November dismissed additional charges of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and carrying a concealed weapon. ....
