Representational Image (Twitter) Hyderabad: Income of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is being undermined by Ramky Enviro Engineers, the private agency which has bagged the contract for processing construction and demolition (C&D) waste. This is mainly due to weigh bridges showing 50–80 metric tonnes (MT) excess of C&D waste. The private party has been monetising the excess weight and claiming bills.

It may be recollected that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao  (KCR) last week had issued directions to review the status of the fire safety measures at hospitals and also instructed Telangana health department officials to take measures to avoid fire accidents. This was issued in wake of fire accidents that have claimed many lives of COVID-19 patients in other states.

According to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials, there are no longer any containment zones in Hyderabad, only hotspots.  The government of Telangana had adopted strict methods to contain the spread of coronavirus last year but this year, the strategy is completely different. The GHMC officials said that they are identifying hot spots - localities with high population density, such as gated communities and slums. They further added that they aren’t declaring any area as a containment zone. But they are urging locals to follow physical distancing norms and restrict movement in and out of such hotspots.

Hyderabad: GHMC’s Directorate of Enforcement Vigilance & Disaster Management (EV&DM) imposed a ₹1-lakh fine on Telugu film actor Mohan Babu for putting up unauthorized advertisement posters of movies on the walls of his residence at Filmnagar. The illegal hoarding was pointed out to the GHMC by netizens over social media platforms. The hoarding outside the actor’s residence had four posters of different movies.

Courtesy: Twitter On Thursday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Directorate of Enforcement Vigilance & Disaster Management has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh to Mohan Babu for setting up unauthorised advertisement posters of films on the walls of his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad. The concerned officials issued a notice to the veteran Telugu actor the other day and it mentioned that the violation is ‘erection of unauthorised advertisement element above 15-feet in height from ground level.’ According to the Directorate of EV&DM, without the written authorization of the competent authority, use of lights or non-static lighting in advertisements, the scale of advertisements, the name board exceeding 15% of the façade of the building, the use of moving, revolving or variable message advertising devices is an offense committed under Sections 420, 421 of the GHMC Act.
