A day before the official opening of ATF 2014, the ASEAN Green Hotels Award was held at Pullman Hotel with Malaysian Tourism Minister Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Tan Abdul Aziz delivering a welcome address.
According to the Malaysian minister, the ASEAN Green Hotel Award was first started in 2008 with Thailand as the host country. “At this ASEAN Green Hotel Award 2014, ASEAN will award 86 green hotels across the ASEAN member states.”

+ April 22, 2021 SIXTEEN accommodation establishments (AEs) composed of city hotels and resorts in Central Visayas have been issued the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels Stamp.
Of the 16, nine properties are from Cebu Province while seven are from the island of Bohol.
The WTTC Safe Travels Stamp was issued to Bai Hotel, Cebu White Sands Resort and Spa, C Suites at 8 Newtown, Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark, Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, Tambuli Seaside Resort and Spa, The Hotel Elizabeth, Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino (applicable to hotel operations only) and Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino (applicable to hotel operations only).

Thirty-three hotels accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) comprise the new batch of recipients of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) “Safe Travels Stamp” from the country.
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat on Wednesday, April 21, led the virtual awarding ceremony of the world’s first safety and hygiene stamp to accommodation establishments (AEs) located across six regions in the Philippines.
The WTTC Safe Travels Stamp has been granted to governments and businesses that have adopted global health standardized protocols to give travelers peace of mind amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The new batch of recipients fron Luzon include Aruga by Rockwell and The Peninsula Manila in Makati City; Grand Hyatt Manila in Taguig City; Joy Nostalg Hotels and Suites Manila in Pasig City; Solair Resort in Paranaque City; Baguio Country Club, The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay, and the Manor at Camp John Hay in Baguio

The local government and various tourism stakeholders in Bohol have announced its “Balik sa Bohol: Bohol Online Sale,” an island-wide travel sale offering es to tourists.
“With the upcoming Balik sa Bohol: Bohol Online Sale, we look forward to more people traveling to Bohol to see and experience the beauty and wonders of the province,” Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said in a statement on Friday, Feb. 19.
“We, at the DOT, along with provincial and local leaders in Bohol, are committed to protecting the health and safety of locals and tourists alike. Regaining the trust and confidence of Filipinos to travel again is essential to the revival of the tourism industry,” Puyat emphasized.
