More cases means more serious cases
We don’t have any better news on the most recent surge of coronavirus cases: Daily admissions to Bay Area ICUs have more than doubled since last month, as have the number of people going into the hospital, a Chronicle data analysis shows. To bolster California’s short-staffed intensive care units, the state is hiring 435 temporary ICU nurses, including some from out of state.
