Retiring Hornell doctor looks back on his nearly 50-year career in Hornell

HORNELL As Dr. Spencer Annabel approaches his retirement from St. James Hospital he’s looking back way back much further than the mid 1970s, when he began his nearly half century association with the Hornell medical facility.
The doctor of internal medicine and current president of the hospital’s medical staff is compiling the entire history of the hospital from St. James’ founding by Father James Early in 1890 to “where we are today.”
The undertaking has grown larger as the project has progressed. Annabel expects the history to become a Power Point presentation and, eventually, to take print form. ....
