The Presidency last Friday held a special event at the Jubilee House to celebrate the 102nd birthday of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) has distributed school supplies and other items to over 100 street-connected children as part of this year’s Back to School event, dubbed - Take me back to school. The supplies, which are aimed at equipping the children, especially SCEF scholarship recipients to go back to school was donated by Adenia Partners, Send a Smile e.V and Rev. Father Andrew Campbell of Christ The King Parish Accra.
The Executive Director of SCEF, Mr. Paul Semeh expressed the organization’s continuous commitment to empowering children in the street situation through education. He noted that this year’s event is particularly significant due to the impact of COVID-19 on the livelihoods of parents and urged the children to put the items to good use and study hard to create a better future for themselves and their families.

The Christ the King Soup Kitchen has secured a parcel of land at Osu in Accra for the construction of a social centre to cater for street children in the metropolis.
Estimated at about GH¢1 million, the project will, among other components, have a conference hall, a boardroom and bedrooms for the children.
The Convener of the Christ the King Soup Kitchen, Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, said the initiative was in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare.
