Launchpad s Pancake Race for 2021 will not be going ahead this year after 23 years of Shrove Tuesday fun on Broad Street. The charity s website said: In the current climate, it’s impossible to hold this event whilst ensuring everyone’s safety. We’ve thought of every which way to reproduce this much-loved fundraiser online but we feel the community spirit and cheering crowds, the local business’ competitiveness in the races (!), the crazy fancy dress – and most of all the excitement and fun of the event – just won’t work digitally.
