Shops will remain open till 8pm starting tomorrow, the Tajir Action Committee in Karachi announced on Friday, in violation of the 6pm shut down time outlined by the Sindh government.
A notification by the committee said that the government had made no contact with traders, had not accepted a single demand of theirs, and only acted unilaterally . If the police resort to use of force or attempt to seal markets, we will protest, said the notification.

The Karachi administration sealed six mobile markets located near the Abdullah Haroon Road for violating coronavirus SOPs.
In a crackdown on April 30 (Friday), the markets were closed and fined for letting people inside without masks and not maintaining social distancing. According to the police, the markets were open after 6pm despite government orders.
A fine has been imposed on them as well. Sindh government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against any person not following SOPs in the province.
Sindh cabinet approves Rs2bn economic package for the poor

As part of its pro-poor economic revival package, the Sindh government has decided to launch the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme to offer interest-free small loans to deserving people.
This decision was taken during the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah at the CM House on Thursday. The chief executive said that the Covid-19 situation has rendered a large number of people unemployed or under-employed.
âNow is the time to introduce a pro-poor economic package, under which interest-free small loans may be offered to people to start their small businesses or strengthen their current business activities,â he said, adding that he can spare Rs2 billion in the current financial year to begin with.
