Individuals, organizations to be honored by YWCA at breakfast

YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley, in commemoration of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW), April 18-24, is hosting a Community Appreciation Breakfast to raise awareness about crime victims’ issues and rights and introduce the community to the important resources and services available, specifically for victims of domestic violence in Oak Ridge and Anderson County.
YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley will commemorate the advancement of victims’ rights and highlight issues surrounding victimization by holding a National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Community Appreciation Breakfast on Tuesday, April 20, at 8:30 a.m. at the YWCA Oak Ridge location at 1660 Oak Ridge Turnpike. The in-person gathering is invitation only due to COVID-19 precautions, but community members are invited to tune into the YWCA’s Facebook page (@YWCAknoxville) to watch live.

Aid To Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties – ADFAC is hosting a new “egg-citing’ event April 10, 2021 aimed to raise necessary funds for ADFAC and give an ‘eggs-tra’ lucky winner half the net sales. The more tickets are sold, the higher the winner s jackpot will be.
“It s no yolk – someone will win a bunch of cash by participating in the ADFAC Egg Spectacular!” a news release stated.
Each $5 “Egg” is a raffle ticket that provides one chance to win a prize or prizes. The Grand Prize Winner will receive 50% of the net ticket sales while the remaining 50% will go towards supporting ADFAC’s mission in the community. In addition, two runners-up will receive non-cash prizes.
