Scorpions softball season ends in play-in game loss Freshman Alyla Brooks delivers a pitch during Sedona Red Rock High School’s state play-in game against Arizona Lutheran on Tuesday, May 4. The Scorpions were competitive with the Coyotes for most of the game, but allowed eight runs in the top of the seventh inning and lost 14-5. Young Scorpions eager to improve on the diamond - Sedona Red Rock News

Sedona Red Rock News Sophomore Annalee Dearden takes a swing during the Sedona Red Rock High School softball team’s game against Northland Prep Academy on Thursday, March 25. Dearden is one of many underclassmen on a team that aside from seniors Lesly Suarez and Bella Horton is made up entirely of freshman and sophomore players. Photo by David Jolkovski/Larson Newspapers While some of the girls teams at Sedona Red Rock High School like volleyball and basketball have experienced players up and down the roster, the softball team is a little different. There are some experienced players, like seniors Bella Horton and Lesly Suarez as well as sophomores Annabelle Cook and Annalee Dearden. Other than that, there’s very little experience on the roster. But what the Scorpions lack in experience they possess in enthusiasm to learn the game and improve.
