Students to return to class in two-cohort plan

WADESBORO The Anson County School Board is preparing for all students to return on March 1 in a two cohort layout. The school board unanimously approved Superintendent Howard McLean’s Plan One style to bring back students K-12 starting next week. The plan will mimic how it looked like in the Fall when K-5 students returned for the first time. This time, however, students will be split into two cohorts instead of three. Cohort A will return in-person on March 1. Students in this group will come to school Monday through Thursday and Fridays will be virtual for all students. Virtual Fridays will allow for the building to be cleaned and prepared for the next cohort.

Students stay virtual through Feb

WADESBORO The Anson County School Board announced the postponement of a re-entry plan for in-person schooling through Feb. 26 during the board’s monthly meeting on Jan. 25. Students were set to return to in-person learning two weeks after winter break, but the district pushed back that plan until at least the end of January due to the alarming rise of COVID-19 cases in the county. The board is again pushing back the start date of Plan B as cases continuously climb. Virtual learning will continue through Feb. 26 with a potential start date of March 1. Dr. George Truman put in motion the postponement of in-person learning, saying it would allow more time for vaccines to be administered to faculty and staff.
