WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) â The Wisconsin Woodchucks announced the addition of three players from Columbia University to the 2021 Roster. Pitchers Sean Higgins, Will Geerdes, and Infielder Tyler Macgregor will all be headed to Wausau to play for the âChucks this summer.

Originally from Santa Ana, CA, Sean Higgins started the 2020 season opener. As a freshman in 2019, Sean made 11 appearances on the plate, including 6 games as the starting pitcher. Sean was a two-year letter winner in high school and was named first-team All-Orange County after setting a varsity record for doubles in 2018. He went 8-1 with a 1.7 ERA and 46s Ks his senior season.

Senior Rachael Carver of Laguna Beach Water Polo became the eleventh and final senior from this year’s squad to reveal her 2021 college plans as the All-Sunset Surf League player has committed to Princeton. As a junior, Carver led the team in assists and steals earning second team All CIF and All-Orange County honors. She becomes the eleventh Laguna field player to earn a college commitment for the senior class in a sport that only six field players can play at a time. The Girls Water Polo squad has won two straight D-I Southern Section CIF titles and are the favorites to “Three-Peat” in 2021.

EUGENE ― Oregon signed 20 players to its 2021 recruiting class, the best in program history.
The Ducks’ class is ranked atop the Pac-12 for the third straight year and No. 6 nationally in the 247Sports Composite.
Four offensive linemen, a trio of heralded receivers, three outside linebackers, pairs of tight ends, safeties and cornerbacks and an inside linebacker, defensive tackle, quarterback and running back made up the class, which has room to add between now and February’s signing period.

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - Orange County continued to set new records on Tuesday for coronavirus diagnoses and hospitalizations as county officials rolled out mobile field hospitals to handle the surge in patients.
The county logged 2,173 new COVID-19 infections, raising the cumulative case total to 107,937. Hospitalizations jumped from 1,287 Monday to 1,371 Tuesday, including 296 ICU patients, up from 288 the previous day.
