ANIMAL TETHERING LAW: New law targeting animal tethering goes into effect in Guthrie

Updated: 3:46 PM CDT Jul 16, 2021 KOCO Staff The city of Guthrie is doing more to protect animals. A new tethering law took effect Friday. That s when an animal is tied to a chain, cable or something similar for long periods of time while unsupervised. It has to be reasonably long enough to give that dog or cat exercise, it s got to be able to have food, access to food and water and shelter, however, the dog or cat will not be able to be out at any time when it s lower than 35 or above 85 degrees and tethered for a continuous period of time,” said Sgt. Anthony Gibbs with Guthrie police.Fines start at $100.

Five men charged with retired entertainer s murder in Trelawny

Loop News The Trelawny police have now charged five persons in connection with the murder of a well-known dancehall figure, Glenford Henry, popularly called ‘DJ Neco Ranking’, who was shot and killed in the parish on Monday. Reports are that Henry was killed during a dispute between his son and a group of men on Kitchen Crescent in the Friendship community. The accused are Christopher Morrison, a 27-year-old farmer of Wakefield, Trelawny; 35-year-old-tiler, Ferion Smart, of Eltham View, Spanish Town, St Catherine and Friendship, Trelawny; 35-year-old Anthony Gibbs, also called ‘Webster’ and ‘Short Boss’ of Bounty Hall, Trelawny; 60- year-old labourer, Victor Morrison, of Wakefield, Trelawny; and 31-year-old unemployed,  Alika Morrison, also called ‘Nicky’, of Wakefield, Trelawny.
