We know that we are not alone with feelings of horror, disgust, and sadness after witnessing the assault on democracy and human dignity on Jan. 6, 2021 at the Capitol building and in Washington, D.C.
And we feel it is of the utmost importance that we acknowledge and condemn this outrageous evil act by American citizens that led to murder, destruction and chaos, all behaviors that threaten the values we cherish and hold most dear, truth, justice and respect for our fellow human beings.
We condemn all those involved in this egregious event, including those who incited this violent act, as well as those who remain silent or indifferent, and support that all perpetrators be immediately brought to justice. ....

Seltzer leaves legacy of service | News, Sports, Jobs

Irving “Irv” Seltzer of Duncansville died Friday and is being remembered as a Blair County businessman, Rotarian, philanthropist and leader.
“Irv never did anything halfway. He put his heart and soul into everything he did,” said Joe Hurd, president/CEO of the Blair County Chamber. “You don’t realize until after someone is gone the void that is left by his passing.”
Altoona businessman Larry McAleer said he knew Seltzer as a client in his plumbing and heating business, as a Rotarian and friend.
“I was really, really lucky to see a lot of Irv,” McAleer said. “Irv always seemed to be calm. He didn’t rattle. He was steady all the time.” ....
