Portland Public, Portland Community College board races see landslide wins
Herman Greene, Julia Brim-Edwards and Gary Hollands won with landslide leads for the Portland Public Schools Board of Education.
In Zone 4, Greene led with 73%. Hollands had 84% in Zone 5 and Brim-Edwards pulled in 81% by the time votes were tallied Wednesday morning.
Greene and Hollands will be newcomers to the PPS board. Brim-Edwards is the only incumbent who ran for re-election to her seat. This year’s May election is a special election, meaning voters are seeing only local candidates city councils, school boards, fire districts and the like and local ballot measures.
It’s too late to mail your ballot to have it counted in time. Instead, take your ballot to a drop box by 8 p.m. Tuesday. Find the one closest to you with this Oregon drop box locator. Didn’t get a ballot? Contact your county elections office.
